Simon Vizard, BACP

My name is Simon and I am qualified as an Integrative Person Centred Counsellor and would be happy to discuss any area of support you may need. Most recently, I have been working with clients needing support with sexual health-related issues (including sexuality, homophobia, and discrimination), mainly in the Gay Men’s and wider queer communities. I am a BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) Registered Counsellor. I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, which I obtained from CPCAB (Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body). I work within the BACP ethical framework and adhere to the BACP’s complaints procedure.

Therapy is a two-way process, and the more effort you put into it, the better the results are likely to be. Expect to feel a bit awkward and nervous at first; this is quite normal, and as time goes on, you will feel less intimidated and more relaxed. Talking therapies require you to be completely honest, so be prepared to face your fears. This can mean remembering and discussing distressing memories, intimate topics, and private thoughts and feelings. There may be tasks or homework to do between sessions, such as trying out new ways of behaving or keeping a diary. Don’t skip these exercises. You’ll get better and quicker results if you complete them.

Together, we can navigate your journey toward self-discovery and healing.
