Shannon Dahse, Therapist

Hi, my name is Shannon and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey. I received my MA in Counseling with a specialization in Addictions from Montclair State University. I have over ten years of experience in the counseling field. Throughout my career, I have worked in schools, in homes, and virtually. I have provided counseling to children, adolescents, and adults ranging in ages 5-65. I currently work at a high school providing mental health support to students experiencing various concerns. I have experience working with individuals struggling with substance use, stress, relationship issues, grief, anxiety, and depression. I have also worked closely with members of the LGBTQIA+ population and those that have experienced abuse and trauma.

I believe that we are all capable of making changes to support our overall well-being. Seeking a therapist is a great first step in that journey. My therapy approach is warm and engaging. I believe in meeting clients where they are at and supporting them in creating realistic, attainable goals for themselves. Determining positive coping strategies and emotional support are key focuses in my work with clients. Therapy is a great way to express and process your feelings, discuss your struggles, and identify areas of strength. I look forward to supporting you in your journey toward better mental health!
