Sam Parker, LCSW
I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker after getting my MSW from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989. I have served in administrative, supervisory, and clinical roles and have experience providing family, group, individual counseling to a variety of clients in various clinical settings since then. I have also been a professor in the UNCG/NC A&T Social Work Program, specializing in Mental Health and Families in Crisis.
I am experienced in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution-Oriented Therapy, Family Therapy, or other appropriate interventions when working with people suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, and other family crises. I have also been using crisis intervention techniques and trauma-focused treatment for over 30 years. I have worked with individuals who have experienced child abuse, domestic violence, and other forms of trauma. These types of problems co-exist with grief and loss and significant relationship issues.
