I have been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Life Coach for the past 20 years. I have worked in many therapeutic environments, including a Crisis Stabilization Unit, Adult/Children's Outpatient Clinic, a Medication Clinic, and in the Elementary/Middle/High School setting. I work with the chronically mentally ill, as well as those struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, low self-esteem and also have extensive experience in both the individual and group/psychosocial rehabilitative therapy setting.
I use an Integrative approach to therapy which is largely client and solutions focused. I enable my clients to determine the areas they wish to address and tailor the therapeutic approach on an individual basis. I draw on several treatment modalities to allow you to further develop your strengths and help you meet all of your treatment plan goals at a speed that works best for you.
I incorporate empathy and humor in each session to help you feel at ease and empowered to face your biggest challenges. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relaxation Training, Behavioral Modification, Mindfulness/Awareness tools and Psychoeducation in my therapy to help you develop a solutions mindset that you can continue to utilize after the therapeutic relationship comes to an end.
Life gets tough but my goal is to empower you to see how destructive thought patterns can get in the way of you reaching full potential. Overall, I help you to see that managing the stressor is more important than just managing the stress as it will allow you to cope with anything that comes your way.
