Keith Wilson, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist. During my career I have counseled diverse clients in a variety of settings in several states. I am currently licensed in California and Texas. My MSSW is from the University of Tennessee.

I have a collaborative, client-centered approach which starts with effective listening. I offer many unique interventions depending on your needs. My approach is focused on you. Clients tell me I am an attentive listener, compassionate, and engaging. I believe people who seek therapy have important strengths to build upon to bring more effective results to their life. I have several unique experiences which enhance my clinical perspective. Currently I work overnight shifts in the Stanford HealthCare Emergency Room which keeps my trauma skills sharp. For 8 years I taught resilience and performance skills to US Army personnel while obtaining the credential of Master Resilience Trainer-Performance Expert (MRT-PE) from the University of Pennsylvania.

While I work with a wide range of clients and clinical concerns, my specialty is clinical anxiety and performance anxiety. Clinical anxiety is often experienced when one is facing a completely new task, new challenge or even changes in a relationship or family. Or it may be a life-long issue that has kept you from doing or achieving what you would like to do. I have two degrees in religious psychotherapy. One from Vanderbilt University Divinity School (M.Div) and one from Boston University School of Theology (DMIN). My focus is to help individuals understand how their religious belief system impacts their mental health. Sometimes there are issues from childhood religious instruction that people have outgrown and are no longer empowering to the individual. Sometimes people have found new religious paths which help them face the challenges of life. Whatever your faith journey is, I am equipped to listen, affirm and challenge issues you bring to therapy. I believe that online therapy offers an effective mode of tracking progress. I will help you describe what you want to accomplish in therapy and then create a therapeutic path to obtain those results. I look forward to working with you to overcome and transform the issues you bring to therapy.
